Yoichi Distillery – Nikka Whisky

歴史

• 1934年: Established "Dainippon Kajiru" and completed construction a factory in Yoichi
• 1936年: Started to produce of whiskey and brandy
• 1940年: Released first Nikka Whiskey and Nikka Brandy part 1
• 1952年: Changed the name to Nikka Whiskey and moved to Tokyo the head office
• 1980年: Became the town's "designated cultural property" the former office as ”the factory founding office of Dainippon Kaju Co., Ltd. (Nikka Whiskey Co., Ltd.)”
• 1989年: Released "Single Malt Yoichi"
• 2001年: The Nikka Whiskey took business integratrion with The Asahi Beer. “Single Cask Yoichi” obtained the highest score in Whiskey Magazine “Best of the Best”
• 2002年: Became a certified malt whiskey distillery of The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (SMWS). Won the 2002 "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award for Excellent Greening Factory" as "Nikka Whiskey Hokkaido Factory Yoichi Distillery"
• 2004年: Selected "Hokkaido Heritage" as "Nikka Whiskey Yoichi Distillery"
• 2005年: Registered nine buildings as "registered national tangible cultural properties"
• 2007年: Certified for a "Modern Industrial Heritage" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as "Yoichi Town's Whiskey Brewing related Heritage (Nikka Whiskey Co., Ltd. Hokkaido Factory)"
• 2008年: "Single Malt Yoichi 1987'' won Whiskey Magazine's World Whiskey Awards (WWA) in the single malt whiskey category.
• 2016 年: Factory Manager Mr. Koichi Nishikawa won "World's Best Distillery Manager Award" of "Icons of Whiskey (IOW)"
